At Body Details, the process of laser scar reduction is simple. It all starts with a FREE consultation that comes with no obligation. Our laser specialists will evaluate your skin, the type of scar you have, and develop a tailored treatment plan just for you.
After your initial consultation, schedule your first appointment and you will be on your way to smoother, brighter skin. At Body Details, we calibrate our lasers specifically for your skin and your scar prior to each treatment. Your scar is not the same as anyone else's, and we don't treat it that way. Our laser calibration process provides the fastest, most effective results.
Is Laser Scar Reduction Painful?
Before and during the procedure we will use a cooling technology to ensure your comfort. Many of our patients report that laser scar reduction doesn't hurt; if anything we hear that it feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin.
Additionally, as we calibrate our lasers for your skin specifically, there is little-to-no risk of burns as you may experience at other centers.
If you want to experience what it feels like, while we never offer free trials of treatments, we do offer a "test pulse". Using the laser settings which (based upon your particular factors) we would be most likely to start your treatments with, you could experience 2 or 3 laser pulses. It would not possibly be effective at hair removal, and laser settings do increase, but it would at least give you a sense of how a treatment would feel. For a test pulse, you must still follow the pre-treatment instructions found here, because they are not only for safety, but also affect your skin's sensitivity.
How Long Does the Process Take?
Your treatment process will take place over a series of sessions. We target your skin cells precisely, allowing your skin time to heal between each appointment. Each session will take place approximately eight weeks apart to ensure your skin is in the best condition to receive your next treatment. Many patients receive between five and ten sessions to help reduce their scars.
Who Administers Treatment?
We only hire medically licensed professionals, including Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), to perform all of our laser procedures, including laser scar reduction. We are unlike many other centers who do not hire true medical professionals, and this sets us apart from the rest. Our APRNs and PAs go through training with Body Details medical experts as well as with the laser manufacturers themselves.
Are There Any Side Effects of Treatment?
The best part of laser scar reduction at Body Details is that there are little-to-no side effects associated with treatment. You may experience a slight redness or burning sensation directly following the procedure but it should dissipate quickly.
What's even better is that there is no downtime following treatment sessions. You can come in, receive your treatment, and go about your day as usual.
How Long Do Sessions Last?
Treatment sessions are fairly quick and will depend on the type of scar you are treating. If you are treating acne scars, treatment sessions may last as little as twenty minutes. For larger scars your appointment may take longer.
